In Satsuma Dojo, we teaches traditional karate with an emphasis on etiquette, goal attainment, and personal development as a way of life: karatedo.

We practice the Shotokan style of Karate, and our instructors are also trained in Shorinji-ryu. Our versatile background enables us to approach the training and teaching based on a keen understanding of this traditional art form from different perspectives.

We also have the privilege to be a part of Shotokan Karate-do International Federation (SKIF), SKI-U.S. Federation, and SKIF-USA.

Our chief instructor Jay Castellano is a Kyoshi (Master Teacher) with titles of 7th Dan in Shotokan Karate and 3rd Dan in Shorinji-ryu Karate.
